Religious Education (RE)

At Shalford, our main aim in Religious Education (RE) is to foster tolerance, respect, and an understanding of diverse beliefs and perspectives. We are dedicated to cultivating mindful, inquisitive learners who grow into responsible members of society, demonstrating mutual respect for others. We follow the Surrey Agreed Syllabus for RE which equips pupils with knowledge and understanding of various religions, enabling them to engage positively in a society enriched by diverse faiths and world views. By encouraging pupils to explore and ask profound questions about life, our curriculum helps them understand the impact of beliefs on people's lives and reflect on their own values and lifestyle. Inclusive and celebratory of diversity, our RE curriculum promotes spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development, preparing our pupils for life in modern Britain with respect and tolerance.
