Our vision for Design and Technology (DT) is that all children have the opportunity through ‘hands on experience’ to be imaginative and to design purposeful products in a varied way. Through DT, we encourage children to become independent, creative problem solvers and thinkers both as individuals and as part of a team. Our immersive curriculum provides opportunities for children to plan, make and evaluate during their DT education. We celebrate children’s successes and help them to reflect on their designs, material and tool choices and final product and also identify possible development points. Design and Technology is a way for children to learn from mistakes, use their imagination and to test their own ideas to gain self-confidence.
